N.V. Lakshmi - had a deep passion for helping the under privileged children. She believed that education is the light of life and helped the needy with school fees, books and uniforms. With the support of her immediate family,she was involved in helping needy individuals she came across and wanted to channelize her efforts to a larger audience.

She thus became a Rotarian at The Rotary Club of Secunderabad - Cantonment . She was associated with several NGOs notably Sri Vidya School for special Children, Deaf Enabled Foundation.She lit lives of many under privileged with her valuable contributions at these organizations.

She suddenly passed away at a young age of 52 years on 7th June 2011 of Brain Hemorrhage. Her wish to donate her organs was fulfilled by her family. Her organs Heart, Liver, Kidneys & Eyes were donated through Mohan Foundation. She had thus given a new lease of life to 6 others even in her death - setting an example that “GIVING`` is infact ``LIVING”.

Her family has decided to continue her exemplary work while keeping intact her values and ethos of simplicity and ``purpose`` and has instituted “ N V Lakshmi Foundation” – a foundation primarily focused on educating poor and needy children .
